We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
In pursuance of public interest, in implementation of the national economic and industrial development plan, and in fulfilment of the requirements of scientific planning,
and based on the matters presented to Us by the Minister of Commerce and Industry after discussing the matter with the relevant ministries and directorates,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
A committee is hereby formed in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, known as the “Manufacturing Committee”, which acts in an advisory capacity to the Directorate General of Industry.
Article 2
The committee shall consider the industrial matters submitted to it by the Directorate General of Industry and shall make proposals and recommendations on them to be submitted to the Minister of Commerce and Industry, taking into account the best ways to industrialise the country on the basis of a sound scientific plan.
Article 3
The committee hereby consists of the following members:
1. Ali Daud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Chairman
2. Engineer Suleiman Barakat Al-Lamki, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry Affairs Deputy chairman and executive secretary
3. Engineer Saif Salim Al-Maamari Member
4. Dr Sharif Lutfi Member
5. Dr Yousef Nematullah Member
6. Dr Ismail Al-Boushi Member
7. Mohammed Ridha Moosa Member
8. Engineer Hassan Issa Nour Member
9. Engineer Habib Makki Member
10. John Wilcox Member
11. Ander Hill Member
12. Advisor to the Industry Directorate Member
13. Advisor to the Quality Control and Standards Directorate Member
14. Director of Public Health Member
Article 4
Members must be granted remuneration in accordance with the statutes in force in the Sultanate.
Article 5
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 38/1974,
in order to build on the success achieved by the implementation of procedures for replacing weighing instruments with modern measurement standards,
in order to achieve public benefit and regulate current transactions,
and based on the matters presented to Us by the Minister of Commerce and Industry,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
All units of measurement currently used in the Sultanate are hereby replaced by the metric system, including the following units:
(a) The metre as the unit of length.
(b) The litre as the unit of volume.
(c) The degree Celsius as the unit of temperature.
In addition to these units, their secondary units and various multiples are hereby added in accordance with the internationally applicable metric system.
Article 2
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry shall issue the regulations and detailed statements related to this replacement.
Article 3
All concerned parties shall implement this decree, each within its mandate, within a maximum period of 31 December 1975.
Article 4
Whoever, after the mentioned date, engages in transactions contrary to the provisions of this decree would be subject to the punishment stipulated in article 292 of the Omani Penal Law.
Article 5
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and must be implemented on the date of its issuance.

and based on what was proposed to Us by the eight elected members of the board of directors of the chamber.

Article 1
Jamaan Mohammed Al-Shab is hereby promoted to the position of Director of the Accounting Directorate in Our Diwan of Protocol in Salalah.
Article 2
Major Jaber Taskar is hereby promoted to the position of Director in Our Diwan of Protocol.
Article 3
Those concerned shall implement this decree, and it must be published in the Official Gazette.

have decreed as follows
Article 1
Mr Mohammed Moosa is hereby promoted to the grade of Undersecretary of the Directorate General of Finance with effect from 1 April 1975.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The following units are hereby included in Our Diwan of Protocol:
Our Royal Court Affairs, Royal Protocol, Military Aides, Palace Police, and coordination with Our Special Guard regarding protocol affairs for Us and Our guests.
Article 2
In addition to the provisions of Our Decree 54/74, Our Diwan of Protocol shall undertake all matters related to Our official and unofficial meetings, and Our visits within and outside the Sultanate, and shall issue the necessary announcements in this regard.
Article 3
We have assigned Noor Al-Din Ahmed Farghal, our Advisor for Protocol Affairs, to oversee the governance of this diwan and the training of its personnel, in addition to his role as Our Protocol Advisor.
Article 4
All matters pertaining to this Diwan hereby directly report to Us.
Article 5
All relevant entities shall refer directly to Our Diwan of Protocol, each within its mandate.
Article 6
Lieutenant Colonel Said Salim Al-Wahaibi is hereby appointed Head of Our Diwan of Protocol.
Article 7
Abdulaziz bin Saud is hereby appointed Administrative Director of this diwan.
Kathim Hashim is hereby appointed as Director of the Secretariat of this diwan.
Article 8
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.
