We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the United States of America on Science and Technology Cooperation signed in the city of Davos on 12 Rabi Al-Thani 1437, corresponding to 22 January 2016,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 17/2016 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Project of Executing Phase III of the Railway Track (Fuhood—Duqm)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit promulgated by Royal Decree 64/78,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Project of Executing Phase III of the Railway Track connecting the Fuhood region in the Governorate of Dhahirah to the Wilayat of Duqm in the Governorate of Wusta—specified in the attached note and masterplan—is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, the Oil and Gas Law promulgated by Royal Decree 8/2011, and the Petroleum Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Hydrocarbon Finder E&P LLC for Block 7 signed on 28 January 2016, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned petroleum agreement is hereby approved.

Article II

and the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, and after presentation to Majlis Al-Shura,

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System is hereby approved in the form attached.
