Article I
The text of article 2 of the Executive Regulation of the Consumer Protection Law is hereby replaced with the following text:Relevant entities may propose amendments to the provisions of the regulation and present them to the Council of Ministers for approval. If they are approved, the chairman of the board shall undertake the procedures for the amendment.
Article II
All that is contrary to this decision, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.Article III
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication. the Consumer Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree 66/2014,
and Decision 256/2015 on Banning the Circulation of Chewing Tobacco (Smokeless),
and in pursuance of public interest,
it is hereby decided
Article I
The text of article II of the aforementioned Decision 256/2015 is hereby replaced with the following text:
Without prejudice to the penal punishments stipulated in the aforementioned Consumer Protection Law, whoever violates the provisions of this resolution shall be punished with an administrative fine no less than 100 (one hundred) Rial Omani and not exceeding 1,000 (one thousand) Rial Omani, and the fine shall be doubled if the violation is repeated.
In the event that this violation continues, an administrative fine of 50 (fifty) Rial Omani shall be imposed for each day on which the violation continues, provided that its total does not exceed 2,000 (two thousand) Rial Omani.
Seized quantities of chewing tobacco (smokeless) must be destroyed in accordance with the applicable controls of the Consumer Protection Authority.
Article II
All that is contrary to this decision, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.
Article III
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
