We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
In honour of Our armed forces and in commemoration of Our resounding victories over the forces of evil and aggression on the eleventh day of December 1975,
after perusal of Royal Decree of 1972 Determining the Dates of Official Holidays in the Sultanate,
and based on the opinion of the Diwan of Legislation,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The eleventh day of December of each year is called “Armed Forces Day.”
Article 2
The mentioned Armed Forces Day is hereby an official holiday for all members of the Armed Forces throughout the Sultanate.
Article 3
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.
