Royal Decree 58/77 on the Accession of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State 26/75 and Royal Decree 13/76 amending it,

after perusal of the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict signed at The Hague (Netherlands) on 14 May 1954,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

We hereby declare the accession of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict signed at The Hague (Netherlands) on 14 May 1954.

Article 2

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is hereby authorised, on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, to issue the instrument of accession in accordance with the procedure stipulated in the mentioned convention.

Article 3

The Government of the Sultanate of Oman must faithfully implement the provisions of this convention from the date of its entry into force for the Sultanate.

Article 4

The competent entities shall implement this decree, each within its mandate, and it must be published in the Official Gazette.
