We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
Royal Decree 32/88 Establishing the National Emergency Committee,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The phrase “National Emergency Committee” is hereby amended, wherever it occurs in the mentioned Royal Decree 32/88, to read: “National Committee for Natural Disasters”.
Article 2
Articles 1 and 3 of the mentioned Royal Decree are hereby amended as follows:
Article 1
The National Committee for Natural Disasters is hereby formed as follows:
-Inspector General of Police and Customs — Chairman
– Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport — Member
– Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources for Environmental Affairs — Member
– Secretary General of the Environmental and Water Resources Protection Council — Member
– Two representatives of the Ministry of Defence — Two members
– A representative of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour — Member
– A representative of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities — Member
The committee may invite to participate in any of its work whoever it deems necessary to seek assistance from for this work from government officials and others.
Article 3
All relevant ministries and government entities, each within its field of mandates, shall cooperate with the National Committee for Natural Disasters in implementing the approved plan.
Article 3
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
