We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,
the Omani Penal Law promulgated by Royal Decree 7/74,
the Law on Employment Secrets and Protected Places promulgated by Royal Decree 36/75,
the National Heritage Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree 6/80,
the Weapons and Ammunition Law promulgated by Royal Decree 36/90,
the Law on Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances promulgated by Royal Decree 17/99,
the Law of the Judicial Authority promulgated by Royal Decree 90/99,
the Criminal Procedure Law promulgated by Royal Decree 97/99,
the Banking Law promulgated by Royal Decree 114/2000,
the Telecommunications Law promulgated by Royal Decree 30/2002,
the Law on Combating Terrorism promulgated by Royal Decree 8/2007,
the Law on Juvenile Accountability promulgated by Royal Decree 30/2008,
the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Law promulgated by Royal Decree 65/2008,
the Industrial Property Rights Law promulgated by Royal Decree 67/2008,
the Electronic Transactions Law promulgated by Royal Decree 69/2008,
the Law Combating Human Trafficking promulgated by Royal Decree 126/2008,
and the Law of Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing promulgated by Royal Decree 79/2010,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The provisions of the attached Cybercrime Law shall apply.
Article II
Chapter two(bis) of book seven of the aforementioned Omani Penal Law is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the attached law or in conflict with its provisions.
Article III
This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
