We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

Royal Decree 6/89 regarding the Regulation of the Relationship between Landlords and Tenants of Residences and Commercial and Industrial Premises and the Registration of Their Lease Contracts,

the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law promulgated by Royal Decree 29/2002,

the Law on the Simplification of Litigation Procedures regarding Some Disputes promulgated by Royal Decree 125/2020,

and the System of Governorates promulgated by Royal Decree 36/2022,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached amendments are hereby made to the Provisions Regulating the Relationship between Landlords and Tenants of Residences and Commercial and Industrial Premises and the Registration of Their Lease Contracts attached to the aforementioned Royal Decree 6/89.

Article II

The courts shall continue to hear lawsuits that have become by virtue of this decree under the competence of the Rental Disputes Resolution Committee, if they are submitted to them before the date of the entry into force of this decree.

Article III

All that is contrary to this decree and the attached amendments, or in conflict with their provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force after the lapse of 6 (six) months from the date of its issuance.
