We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,
the Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservation Law issued by Royal Decree 6/2003,
and Royal Decree 6/2006 Establishing the Oman Botanic Garden,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The texts of articles I and III of the mentioned Royal Decree 6/2006 are hereby replaced with the following texts:
Article I
The area specified in the attached map is hereby made a protected natural site named “Oman Botanic Garden”, subordinate to the Governorate of Muscat (Muscat Municipality).
Article III
The Chairman of Muscat Municipality shall exercise all the powers stipulated in the mentioned Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservation Law in regard to the Oman Botanic Garden, and he shall issue the regulations and decisions implementing this decree in coordination with the relevant entities.
Article II
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
