We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,
the Law of National Parks and Protected Natural Sites issued by Royal Decree 26/79 and its amendments,
and the Law on Environmental Protection and Pollution Control issued by Royal Decree 10/82 and its amendments,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The area, the dimensions of which are specified in the attached annex and map, is hereby designated a national natural park named the “Saleel Natural Park”.
Article II
The Minister of Regional Municipalities and Environment shall issue the regulations and decisions implementing this decree, in coordination with the relevant ministries and entities, provided that they include the rules governing entry to the reserve, the fees prescribed for it, the timing of visits, the activities allowed to be practised and those that are prohibited to be carried out, and the appropriate penalties in each case.
Article III
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
