An officer in service on the date of entry into force of this decree is entitled to the starting salary of the grade he occupies or the salary he receives—including any increase or allowance due—whichever is greater.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on 1 January 2007.

Royal Decree 30/2007 Appointing a Non-Resident Ambassador

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law promulgated by Royal Decree 40/86,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Zahir bin Saif Al-Hosni, Our ambassador to the Russian Federation, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Belarus.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 29/2007 Transferring an Employee to the Foreign Ministry and Appointing Him an Ambassador in the Headquarters of the Ministry

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law promulgated by Royal Decree 40/86,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ali bin Salim bin Masood Al-Maamari is hereby transferred from the Ministry of Defence to the Foreign Ministry with his same financial allocations and employment privileges, and he is hereby appointed an ambassador in the headquarters of the ministry.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on 10 April 2007.
