We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law issued by Royal Decree 40/86 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Advisor Amer bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Hajri is hereby granted the title of ambassador, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Lebanon.

Article II

Advisor Sheikh Ghazi bin Said bin Abdullah Al-Bahar Al-Rawas is hereby granted the title of ambassador, and is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to Malaysia.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Ambassador Mohammed bin Omar bin Ahmed Aideed, Our permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, is hereby transferred and appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to Brunei Darussalam.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 54/96 Approving the Accession of the Sultanate to the Convention on the Rights of the Child,

and the amendment to article 43(2) of the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 21 December 1995,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The amendment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child is hereby ratified as adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 21 December 1995.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
