Royal Decree 52/2001 Adopting the Organisational Structure of Sultan Qaboos University

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law of Sultan Qaboos University issued by Royal Decree 84/99,

and Royal Decree 15/99 Adopting the Organisational Structure of Sultan Qaboos University,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached organisational structure of Sultan Qaboos University is hereby adopted.

Article II

The mentioned Royal Decree 15/99 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the attached structure or in conflict with it.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Suleiman Muqaibel is hereby appointed a member of Majlis Al-Dawla.

Article II

Royal Decree 49/2001 Amending Employment Positions in the Oman Establishment for Press, Publication, and Advertising

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Civil Service Law issued by Royal Decree 8/80 and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 43/97 Establishing the Oman Establishment for Press, Publication, and Advertising,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Sayyid Sultan bin Hamad bin Saud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Establishment for Press, Publication, and Advertising, is hereby transferred to the Ministry of Social Affairs, Labour, and Vocational Training and appointed an advisor in this regard with his same current grade.

Article II

Saeed bin Khalfan bin Sulaiman Al-Harthy is hereby appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Establishment for Press, Publication, and Advertising with the grade assigned to an undersecretary of a ministry.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 48/2001 Appointing to Some Positions and Appointing a Member to Majlis Al-Dawla

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 86/97 Regarding Majlis Oman and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Sayyid Musallam bin Ali Al-Busaidi is hereby appointed Advisor to the State.

Article II

Dr Ahmed bin Khalfan bin Mohammed Al-Rawahi is hereby appointed a member of Majlis Al-Dawla.

Article III

Sheikh Salim bin Mustahil bin Ahmed Al-Maashni is hereby granted the rank of minister and appointed an advisor in the Diwan of Royal Court.

Article IV

Sheikh Sultan bin Rashid bin Malik Al-Shihi is hereby appointed an advisor to the Ministry of Interior with his same current grade.

Article V

Dr Saud bin Nasser bin Ali Al-Riyami is hereby appointed Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University with his same current grade.

Article VI

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 47/2001 Amending the Ministerial Formation

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A Ministry of Transport and Communications is hereby established, and Malik bin Sulaiman Al-Mamari is hereby appointed its minister.

Article II

A Ministry of Housing, Electricity, and Water is hereby established, and Sheikh Suhail bin Mustahail Shammas is hereby appointed its minister.

Article III

The Ministries of Regional Municipalities and Environment and Water Resources are hereby merged into one ministry named the “Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment, and Water Resources”, and Dr Khamis bin Mubarak bin Issa Al-Alawi is hereby appointed its minister.

Article IV

Sheikh Salim bin Hilal bin Ali Al-Khalili is hereby appointed Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Article V

Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al-Qatabi is hereby appointed Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.

Article VI

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article VII

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

The mentioned Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Austria for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments is hereby ratified.

Article II

and the Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Lebanon for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and its annex signed in Beirut on 18 Muharram 1422, corresponding to 12 April 2001,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Lebanon for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and its annex are hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 44/2001 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Project to Construct a Fishing Port in the Wilayat of Saham

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Fishing Port Project in the Wilayat of Saham specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
