Royal Decree 65/97 Issuing the Law on the Censorship of Artistic Works (Repealed)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on the Censorship of Artistic Works promulgated by Royal Decree 45/76,

Royal Decree 20/77 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture,

and Royal Decree 15/97 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the attached law shall apply in regard to the censorship of artistic works.

Article II

The Minister of National Heritage and Culture shall issue the necessary decisions to implement the provisions of this law.

Article III

The aforementioned Royal Decree 45/76 is hereby repealed, as well as every text that is contrary to the attached law or in conflict with its provisions.

Article IV

Licences regarding artistic works, existing at the time of the promulgation of this law, shall continue to operate until the expiry of their period.

Article V

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 63/97 Approving the Petroleum Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Gulfstream Resources Canada Limited

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Oil and Minerals Law issued by Royal Decree 42/74,

and the petroleum agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Gulfstream Resources Canada Limited signed on 27 June 1997 between the Minister of Oil and Minerals on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate and the mentioned company,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned petroleum agreement signed on 26 July 1997 between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Gulfstream Resources Canada Limited is hereby approved.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 62/97 Adding a New Article to Royal Decree 79/81

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 79/81 Establishing the Commercial Court and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A new article numbered 4bis is hereby added to the mentioned Royal Decree 79/81 with the following text:

Without prejudice to the provisions of the preceding article, the criminal circuit has jurisdiction to rule on labour lawsuits, regardless of their value, and also has jurisdiction to rule on incidental claims submitted in these lawsuits or related to the original petition, regardless of their type or value.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from 1 July 1997.
