We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue adopted by the International Conference held in Hamburg on 24 April 1979,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the mentioned International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession to the convention in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 5/93 Authorising the Minister of Transport to Sign a Bilateral Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Russian Federation on Air Services Between and Beyond Their Respective Territories,

and the texts of the mentioned agreement signed in Muscat on 16 January 1993,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned Bilateral Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Russian Federation on Air Services Between and Beyond Their Respective Territories is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and the text of the mentioned memorandum of understanding signed in Muscat on 14 November 1992,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Fields of Sports and Youth is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Ambassador Mohammed bin Ali bin Thani Al-Khusaibi—Our ambassador to Japan—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to New Zealand and Australia.

have decreed as follows

The mentioned Trade and Economic Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Cultural and Educational Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic signed in Damascus on 28 September 1992 is hereby approved.

Article II

The mentioned agreement is hereby ratified.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and Royal Decree 47/80 Issuing the Law Concerning the Employee System of the Diwan of Royal Court,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The services of Sheikh Sulaiman bin Khalaf Al-Kharusi are hereby transferred to the Office of the Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan for Religious and Historical Affairs, and he is hereby granted the special grade (A) of the schedule of grades and salaries attached to the mentioned Royal Decree 47/80.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
