Royal Decree 62/99 Approving an Amendment to the Petroleum Agreement Signed on 22 June 1998 Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Amoco Oman Gas BV

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Oil and Minerals Law issued by Royal Decree 42/74,

Royal Decree 44/98 Approving the Petroleum Agreement Signed on 22 June 1998 Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Amoco Oman Gas BV,

and the agreement dated 11 April 1999 between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Amoco Oman Gas BV on the amendment of the mentioned petroleum agreement,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The amendment dated 11 April 1999 to the petroleum agreement signed on 22 June 1998 between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Amoco Oman Gas BV is hereby approved.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 60/99 Approving the Amendment to the International Plant Protection Convention

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the International Plant Protection Convention approved by the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) at its sixth session held in November 1951,

and the decision of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference 12/97 at its twenty-ninth session held in November 1997 to amend the International Plant Protection Convention,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The amendment to the International Plant Protection Convention is hereby approved in accordance with the mentioned decision of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

The Minister of Transport is hereby authorised to sign the mentioned Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Air Services.

Royal Decree 61/99 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Lands Affected by the Boundaries of Seeb International Airport

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The lands, properties, and real estate located in the Mawaleh (North) area specified in the attached note and masterplan are hereby deemed public benefit projects.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 52/99 Transferring the Subordination of the Sultanate of Oman Commercial Office in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 61/96 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The subordination of the Commercial Office of the Sultanate of Oman in the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is hereby transferred to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, provided that it is directly subordinate to the Minister.

Article II

The powers, allocations, and records of the office are hereby transferred to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Article III

The Minister of Commerce and Industry shall issue the necessary decisions to implement this decree.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
