Royal Decree 56/98 Determining Public Benefit Status for the Works of the Collection and Transmission Network Necessary for the Salalah Wastewater Project

Arabic

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The works of the collection and transmission network necessary for the Salalah Wastewater Project specified in the attached note and masterplan are hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project specified in article I, and all establishments on them, as specified in the attached annex 1, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

The government lands affected by this project and shown in the attached annexes 2(a) and 2(b) are hereby allocated to the project stipulated in article I.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 55/98 Ratifying the Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Singapore for the Avoidance of Double Taxation of Income Derived from International Air Transport and Its Annex

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Singapore for the Avoidance of Double Taxation of Income Derived From International Air Transport and its annex is hereby ratified.

Article II

Article I

The text of article 23 of the mentioned Tender System issued by Royal Decree 86/84 is hereby replaced with the following text:

The Tender Board shall determine the price of copies of the conditions and specifications of bids in all tenders subject to this system.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Advisor Fuad bin Mubarak bin Ali Al-Hinai is hereby granted the title of ambassador and appointed Permanent Representative of the Sultanate to the United Nations in New York.

Article II

Royal Decree 50/98 Amending Some Provisions of Royal Decree 65/91 Establishing Oman Chromite Company SAOG

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Commercial Companies Law 4/74 and its amendments,

the Financial Law issued by Royal Decree 56/82 and its amendments,

Royal Decree 65/91 Establishing Oman Chromite Company SAOG,

and Royal Decree 28/92 Appointing a Chairman for the Board of Directors of Oman Chromite Company and Two Members Representing the Share of the Government in the Board,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of the first paragraph of article 7 of the Annex to the Provisions Establishing Oman Chromite Company Attached to the Mentioned Royal Decree 65/91 is hereby replaced with the following text:

The board of directors must be composed of ten members as follows:

– Three members representing the share of the government and appointed in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Commercial Companies Law and Financial Law, provided that the chairman of the board of directors is among them.

A decision must be issued by the Minister Supervising the Ministry of Finance to appoint a chairman of the board of directors from the members representing the share of the government.

Article II

The articles of association of the company must be amended in accordance with the provisions of this decree.

Article III

The mentioned Royal Decree 28/92 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to this decree or in conflict with its provisions.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on 26 May 1998.

Royal Decree 49/98 Issuing the System of Pensions and Gratuity for the Personnel of the Royal Guard of Oman (Repealed)

This item has been repealed by virtue of Royal Decree 52/2023.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and our approval of the contents of the letter of the Royal Guard of Oman dated 7 October 1996,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Without prejudice to our aforementioned approval, the attached system shall apply with respect to the pensions and gratuity for the personnel of the Royal Guard of Oman.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
