We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 40/86 Issuing the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Ahmed bin Ibrahim bin Qasim—Our ambassador to the Somali Democratic Republic—is hereby transferred to the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 58/90 Appointing an Ambassador of the Sultanate to the Republic of Yemen

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 40/86 Issuing the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law and its amendments,

and the Declaration of the Establishment of the Republic of Yemen on 26 May 1990,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Awadh bin Mahfoodh bin Ali Bakthir is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Yemen.

Article II

The Embassy of the Sultanate in the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen is hereby abolished.

Article III

Ambassador Mohammed bin Salim bin Mohammed Al-Hajri—Our ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen—is hereby transferred to the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry.

Article IV

A consulate general for the Sultanate is hereby established in the Governorate of Aden in the Republic of Yemen.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Commodore Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik bin Taimur Al-Said is hereby promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and appointed Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman.

His Excellency Sayyid Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al-Busaidi—Our ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia—is hereby transferred and appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Article II

Counsellor Sayyid Jaifar bin Salim bin Ali Al-Said is hereby granted the title of ambassador, and appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the State of Bahrain.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Article I

Ambassador Rashid bin Nasser bin Sulaiman Al-Lamki—Our ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Ghana.

Article II

Ambassador Muneer bin Abdulnabi bin Yousuf Makki—Our ambassador to the French Republic—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Chad.

Article III

Ambassador Hamad bin Hilal bin Ali Al-Maamari—Our ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Kenya.

Article IV

The membership of Sayyid Ali bin Saif Al-Said in the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman is hereby renewed for a period of five years starting from 15 June 1990.

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 8/80 Issuing the Civil Service Law and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Salim bin Ali bin Nasser Al-Siyabi is hereby appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Ports and Civil Aviation Affairs.

Article II

Tariq bin Mohammed bin Amin Al-Mandhari is hereby appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Roads and Public Transport Affairs.

Article III

The Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Transport is hereby amended in accordance with the foregoing.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 49/90 Establishing a Committee for Commercial and Industrial Coordination (Repealed)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A committee named the “Commercial and Industrial Coordination Committee” is hereby established, which is competent to consider matters that ensure the coordination of efforts between relevant government entities and the private sector in a manner that stimulates the commercial and industrial sectors and contributes to achieving the comprehensive development of the country.

Article II

The committee is hereby formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the membership of:

– The Minister of Transport.

– The Minister of Labour and Vocational Training.

– The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.

– The Secretary General of the Development Council.

– The Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

– The Deputy Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

– A number of members representing the regions of the Sultanate.

The committee may seek the assistance of the necessary experts from ministries and government authorities whenever the need arises, and it shall submit its recommendations to the Council of Ministers.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
