Royal Decree 68/88 Transferring the Director General of Royal Protocols to Special Grade A

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 47/80 Issuing the Law Concerning the Statute of the Officers of the Diwan of Royal Court and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 8/88 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Diwan of Royal Court,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Jumaa bin Rashid bin Said Al-Balushi—Director General of Royal Protocols in the Diwan of Royal Court—is hereby transferred to Special Grade A of the Grades and Salaries Schedule attached to the Law Concerning the Statute of the Officers of the Diwan, provided that he retains his current job title.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 40/84 Authorising the Signing of a Bilateral Cooperation Protocol Between Muscat Municipality and the Secretariat of the Capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,

and the mentioned Bilateral Cooperation Agreement Between the City of Muscat and the City of Amman, signed in the city of Muscat on 12 February 1986,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned Bilateral Cooperation Agreement Between the City of Muscat and the City of Amman, the Capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 66/88 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Hajra Area Replanning Project in the Wilayat of Sohar

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 64/78 Issuing the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit and its amendements,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The project for the redevelopment of the Hajra area in the Wilayat of Sohar as specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize land and real estate necessary for the mentioned project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Note on Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Hajra Area Replanning Project in the Wilayat of Sohar

Within the framework of the royal interest in the redevelopment of the Hajra area in the Wilayat of Sohar, the Diwan of Royal Court has prepared a masterplan for the project in accordance with modern plans, with the aim of enhancing the overall appearance of the area and providing citizens with the opportunity to rebuild their homes in a modern style, while respecting the Islamic and Omani architectural character, as well as introducing the necessary services and creating recreational spaces, green areas in the form of public parks, and commercial markets.

The implementation of the project requires that public benefit status be declared to it in order to expropriate the land and real estate obstructing its path, in accordance with the provisions of the law and on the basis of the planning drawings approved by the Ministry of Housing.

and Royal Decree 40/86 Issuing the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The ambassadors named below are hereby transferred to the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry:

1. Ambassador Hamad bin Nasser bin Mansoor Al-Toubi.

2. Ambassador Bashir bin Sulayem bin Faraj.

3. Ambassador Marhoon bin Ahmed bin Salim Al-Marhoon.

4. Ambassador Ahmed bin Omar bin Taher Baomar.

Article 2

Ambassador Sayyid Khalid bin Qais bin Khalid is hereby transferred from the Consulate General in Karachi and appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Korea.

Article 3

Ambassador Hilal bin Salim bin Hamoud Al-Siyabi is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the State of Kuwait.

Article 4

Ambassador Mubarak bin Khalfan bin Naajim Al-Sabahi—Our ambassador to the Republic of the Sudan—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Burundi.

Article 5

Ambassador Saud bin Sulaiman bin Hamyar Al-Nabhani—Our ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Denmark, and the Republic of Finland.

Article 6

Advisor Dawood bin Hamdan bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan is hereby granted the title of ambassador, and appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to Japan.

Article 7

Advisor Awadh bin Mahfoodh bin Ali Bakthir is hereby granted the title of ambassador, and appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Yemen Arab Republic.

Article 8

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Article III

The Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Belgium-Luxembourg Economic Union signed in the city of Brussels on 9 January 1987, is hereby approved.

Article II

The mentioned agreement is hereby ratified.
