We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on the Regulation and Privatisation of the Electricity and Related Water Sector promulgated by Royal Decree 78/2004,

Royal Decree 2/2008 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and the System of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water promulgated by Royal Decree 58/2009,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Ministry of Oil and Gas is hereby assigned the competence for the implementation of the state public policy regarding the energy sector.

Article II

All competences assigned to the Public Authority for Electricity and Water relating to the electricity sector stipulated in the aforementioned System of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water are hereby transferred to the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

The Ministry of Oil and Gas shall also exercise the competences assigned to the Public Authority for Electricity and Water relating to the electricity sector stipulated in the aforementioned Law on the Governance and Privatisation of the Electricity and Related Water Sector, and any other law.

Article III

All records, allocations, and assets related to the electricity sector of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water are hereby transferred to the Ministry of Oil and Gas, as well as the directorates responsible for the electricity sector and their employees with their same employment status and financial entitlements.

The implementation of the transfer must be in accordance with the mechanism agreed upon by the Minister of Oil and Gas and the Chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water.

Article IV

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Omani nationality is hereby reinstated to:

2. Aisha bint Sulaiyam bin Marhoon Al-Maamari

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Article II

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law of the Flag, Emblem, and National Anthem of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 53/2004,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 12 of the aforementioned Law of the Flag, Emblem, and National Anthem of the State is hereby replaced with the following text:

It is prohibited to use the emblem as a trade mark or for the purpose of commercial advertising or promotion. It is also prohibited to place the emblem on locally produced or manufactured jewellery, products, or tools or to import any of them without the prior permission of the Minister of Commerce and Industry after the approval of the Minister. It is prohibited to display or sell in commercial stores materials manufactured in violation of the provisions of this article. In all cases, the protection stipulated in the previous paragraph applies to the emblem, whether it is placed individually or accompanied by any emblems, drawings, shapes, or images or inserted into the components of any of them. The stated protection also covers official emblems, marks, and symbols of government bodies and the military and security services if the emblem is a part of their components.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
