Tax Authority: Decision 57/2021 Issuing the Regulation Governing the Work of the Tax Grievance Committee

Arabic

Based on the Income Tax Law promulgated by Royal Decree 28/2009,

the Excise Tax Law promulgated by Royal Decree 23/2019,

the Value Added Tax Law promulgated by Royal Decree 121/2020,

the Regulation Governing the Work Procedures of the Income Tax Committee Issued by Ministerial Decision 52/2004,

and the Executive Regulation of the Excise Tax Law issued by Decision 51/2020,

and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article I

The provisions of the attached regulation shall apply in regard to the governance of the work of the Tax Grievance Committee.

Article II

The aforementioned Ministerial Decision 52/2004 is hereby repealed , as well as all that is contrary to the attached regulation or in conflict with its provisions.

Article III

This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 32/2021 Appointing Judges to the Supreme Court

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

and the Law of the Judicial Authority promulgated by Royal Decree 90/99,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Those named in the attached list are hereby appointed judges to the Supreme Court.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 31/2021 Amending Some Provisions of Royal Decree 35/2014 Establishing the College of Sharia Sciences and Issuing Its System

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

Royal Decree 35/2014 Establishing the College of Sharia Sciences and Issuing Its System,

the System of the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 75/2020,

and Royal Decree 98/2020 Amending the Name of the Ministry of Higher Education to the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, Determining Its Competences, and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article I of the aforementioned Royal Decree 35/2014 is hereby replaced with the following text:

A scholarly institute named the "College of Sharia Sciences" is hereby established, and it shall be subordinate to the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation. The attached system shall apply in regard to it. 

Article II

The text of article IV of the aforementioned Royal Decree 35/2014 is hereby replaced with the following text:

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College of Sharia Sciences shall issue the necessary regulations and decisions for implementing the provisions of this decree and the attached system, and until they are issued, the provisions of the regulations and decisions in force continue to operate to the degree that they do not contradict with their provisions. 

Article III

The attached amendments to the system of the College of Sharia Sciences attached to the aforementioned Royal Decree 35/2014 shall be implemented.

Article IV

All that is contrary to this decree and the attached amendments, or in conflict with their provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article V

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

and the Omani Nationality Law promulgated by Royal Decree 38/2014,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Omani nationality is hereby granted to those named in the attached lists.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Based on the Law of Free Zones issued by Royal Decree 56/2002,

Royal Decree 103/2005 Establishing a Free Zone in Mazyunah,

Royal Decree 62/2006 Establishing the Salalah Free Zone,

Royal Decree 123/2010 Establishing the Sohar Free Zone,

Royal Decree 119/2011 Establishing the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm and Issuing Its System,

the System of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm issued by Royal Decree 79/2013,

Royal Decree 105/2020 Establishing the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones and Determining Its Mandates,

Royal Decree 106/2020 Establishing the Environment Authority, Determining Its Mandates, and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

Decision 326/2015 Issuing the Regulation Governing Environmental Permits in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm,

Ministerial Decision 48/2017 Issuing the Regulation Governing the Issuance of Environmental Permits,

the approval of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones,

and the approval of the Ministry of Finance,

and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article I

The provisions of the attached controls hereby apply in regard to the governance of environmental permits in the special economic zones and free zones.

Article II

In regard to matters not governed by a special text in the attached controls, the systems in force apply. The environmental permits for projects in force before the entry into force of the provisions of the attached controls continue to operate until the expiry of their period.

Article III

The mentioned Decision 326/2015 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the attached controls or in conflict with their provisions.

Article IV

This decision must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority: Decision 19/2021 Determining the Annual Royalty Rates Prescribed on the Licensee Who Provides Telecommunications Services

Based on the Telecommunications Law promulgated by Royal Decree 30/2002,

the approval of the Council of Ministers,

and the approval of the Board of Directors of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority,

and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article I

The annual royalty rate that the licensee shall pay to the government of the Sultanate is hereby provided in the attached schedule.

Article II

The collection of the royalty shall be in accordance with the rules and procedures specified by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

Article III

All that is contrary to this decision, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
