We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Decree 26/75 and Decree 13/76 amending it, Concerning the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State, and in particular articles 2, 13, and 14,
after perusal of Decree 12/76 Regarding the Ministry of Land and Municipalities,
after perusal of Law 4/75 Reorganising the Capital Municipality,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The responsibility of supervising the affairs of the Capital Municipality and regional municipalities is hereby transferred to the Ministry of Land Affairs and Municipalities.
Article 2
Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Mandates of the Governorate of the Capital and paragraph 9 of the Mandates of the Ministry of Interior in Annex A and the subsequent provisions in Annex B of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State are hereby repealed.
Article 3
In Law 4/75 Reorganising the Capital Municipality, the phrase “Governorate of the Capital” is hereby replaced with the phrase “Minister of Land Affairs and Municipalities” wherever it occurs.
Article 4
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of entry into force of the mentioned Decree 12/76.
