We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 35/77 Issuing the Community Housing Law,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The term "community housing" is hereby amended wherever it occurs in the laws and royal decrees in force in the Sultanate to become "social housing".
Article 2
The following directorates general are hereby established at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour:
1. The Directorate General of Social Affairs and Labour in the South.
2. The Directorate General of Housing.
Article 3
The Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour is hereby adopted in accordance with the attached chart.
Article 4
All competent government entities shall implement this decree, each within its mandate.
Article 5
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
