Royal Decree 24/88 Approving the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 14 December 1973,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 14 December 1973, is hereby approved.

Article II

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is hereby authorised to sign the instruments of accession on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and to deposit them in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned convention.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
