Royal Decree 64/2020 Establishing‌ ‌the‌ ‌Cyber‌ ‌Defence‌ ‌Centre‌ ‌and‌ ‌Promulgating‌ ‌Its‌ ‌System‌

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Telecommunications Law promulgated by Royal Decree 30/2002,

Royal Decree 63/2003 regarding the National Security Council,

the Electronic Transactions Law promulgated by Royal Decree 69/2008,

the Cybercrime Law promulgated by Royal Decree 12/2011,

and the Internal Security Service Law promulgated by Royal Decree 4/2020,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A centre named the “Cyber Defence Centre” is hereby established subordinate to the Internal Security Service and governed by the provisions of the attached system.

Article II

The Chairman of the Internal Security Service shall issue the necessary regulations and decisions for implementing the provisions of the attached system.

Article III

All that is contrary to this decree and the attached system, or is in conflict with their provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
