Royal Decree 109/2011 regarding the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention on Temporary Admission “Istanbul Convention” and its Annexes A and B.1

Arabic

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Convention on Temporary Admission “Istanbul Convention” and its Annexes A and B.1,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the aforementioned convention and its Annexes A and B.1 is hereby approved, with a reservation on paragraph 1a of article 5 of Annex B.1.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession to the aforementioned convention and its annexes A and B.1 in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Agreement on the Establishment of an International Transport and Transit Corridor between the Governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan (Ashgabat Agreement) signed in the city of Ashgabat on 21 Jumada Al-Awwal 1432, corresponding to 25 April 2011,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instrument of ratification for the aforementioned agreement in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 107/2011 Upgrading the Organisational Level of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Directorate in the National Records and Archives Authority to a Directorate General Named the “Directorate General of Administrative and Financial Affairs”

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 26/75, the Public Authorities and Establishments System promulgated by Royal Decree 116/91, the National Records and Archives Law promulgated by Royal Decree 60/2007, and Royal Decree 70/2008 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the National Records and Archives Authority, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The level of the “Administrative and Financial Affairs Directorate” in the National Records and Archives Authority is hereby upgraded to a directorate general named the “Directorate General of Administrative and Financial Affairs”.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance. Issued on: 26 Dhu Al-Qa’dah 1432 Corresponding to: 24 October 2011

Royal Decree 106/2011 Amending Some Provisions of the Law of Public Notaries

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law of Public Notaries promulgated by Royal Decree 40/2003,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A new paragraph is hereby added to article 14 of the aforementioned Law of Public Notaries, the text of which is as follows:

“He shall also notarise wills over real estate for which a mulkiya is issued from the real estate register after verifying the fulfilment of its Sharia and legal conditions, or attest the signature in its customary document, and all of that on the basis of the request of the testator”.
