We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law Governing the Foreign Ministry promulgated by Royal Decree 32/2008,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Ali bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Alawi, Our ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of the Niger.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Commercial Law promulgated by Royal Decree 55/90,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A new paragraph is hereby added to article 238 of the aforementioned Commercial Law, with the following text:

However, in the commercial guarantee of personal bank loans, the guarantor may request the inclusion of a clause in the guarantee contract requiring the creditor to refer to the debtor first and before recourse against the guarantor.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
