We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession to the convention in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

and Royal Decree 16/2002 Appointing Members to the Municipal Council of the Muscat Municipality,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The period of the current cycle of the Municipal Council of Muscat Municipality is for four years starting from 26 February 2002.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
