Licences granted to foreign accounting and auditing offices, branches of foreign offices, or companies working in this field issued before the effective date of Royal Decree 53/96 hereby continue to be valid for a maximum period ending in the year 2010. It is not permitted for such licences to be renewed after the expiry of this period except in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law Regulating the Accounting and Auditing Profession.

Article II

The owners of the currently licensed Omani offices must fulfil the full-time requirement stipulated in the mentioned law within a maximum period ending in the year 2010.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 18/2004 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Rustaq/Maskan Road Project

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Rustaq/Maskan Road Project specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project specified in article I, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Qurayyat/Sur Road Project (Phase II) specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II
