Royal Decree 64/2000 Approving the Signing of and Ratifying the Agreement on Diplomatic and Consular Cooperation Between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Bahrain

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Agreement on Diplomatic and Consular Cooperation Between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Bahrain signed in Muscat on 8 March 2000,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The signing of the mentioned agreement is hereby approved.

Article II

The mentioned agreement is hereby ratified.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 63/2000 Amending Article 12 of the Tender System Issued by Royal Decree 86/84

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Tender System issued by Royal Decree 86/84 Issuing the Law and System of Government Tenders and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of the first paragraph of article 12 of the mentioned Tender System issued by Royal Decree 86/84 is hereby replaced with the following text:

Subject to the provisions of article 1, the provisions of this system apply to the purchases and works of government units. An internal committee in the unit chaired by the minister or whoever he authorises from the undersecretaries shall assume the powers of the Tender Board in accordance with this system for contracts and works whose value does not exceed two hundred and fifty thousand Rial Omani.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 62/2000 Amending the Name of the Police Academy and Issuing the System of the Police College

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

After perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Police Law promulgated by Royal Decree 35/90,

and Royal Decree 89/91 Adopting the Organisational Structure of Royal Oman Police,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The name of the “Police Academy” is hereby replaced with “Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences”.

Article 2

The attached system shall apply to the Police College in the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences, and the system currently applicable continues to apply to students subject to its provisions until their graduation.

Article 3

The Inspector General of Police and Customs shall issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the implementation of the attached system.

Article 4

All that is contrary to this system, or in conflict with it, is hereby repealed.

Article 5

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 61/2000 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Masarrat Basin Water Supply Project

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Masarrat Basin Water Supply Project specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article 2

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
