Royal Decree 16/97 Approving the Petroleum Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and NMR Petroleum Oman Limited

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Oil and Minerals Law issued by Royal Decree 42/74,

and the petroleum agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and NMR Petroleum Oman Limited signed on 25 January 1997 between the Minister of Oil and Minerals on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate and the mentioned company,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned petroleum agreement signed on 25 January 1997 between the Government of the Sultanate and NMR Petroleum Oman Limited is hereby approved.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Organisational Structure of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture is hereby adopted in accordance with the attached annex.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 14/97 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Oil and Gas Pipelines Protection Project

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The oil and gas pipelines protection project specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the mentioned project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.
