Royal Decree 72/89 Implementing Modern Irrigation Systems in the Region of Batinah

Arabic 

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and desiring to conserve water consumption and to increase agricultural production and improve its quality in the Region of Batinah,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Public Authority for Water Resources shall, each within its area of competence, issue the necessary regulations and decisions to implement the recommendations concerning the implementation of modern irrigation systems in the Region of Batinah, following their approval by the Council of Ministers.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
