after perusal of Royal Decree 75/81 Making Appointments in the Palace Office,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
Major General Ali bin Majid Al-Maamari—Minister of Palace Office Affairs—is hereby promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Article II
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Article I
The name of the “Palace Office” is hereby amended to the “Ministry of Palace Affairs Office”. The ministry shall have the same mandates and regulations as were originally prescribed for the Palace Office prior to the issuance of this decree.
Article II
The name of the “Head of the Palace Office” is hereby amended to the “Minister of Palace Office Affairs”.
Article III
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 34/73 Issuing the Labour Law and its amendments,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The text of article 53 of the mentioned Labour Law is hereby replaced with the following text:
Article 53
The government may, if it deems it appropriate, set a minimum wage and review its determination whenever economic conditions so require. It may also set a minimum wage for a particular category of workers, for workers holding certain qualifications, or for workers occupying professions or jobs where the circumstances or nature of work require this determination.
The minimum wage must be determined by a decision issued by the minister after the approval of the Council of Ministers.
Article II
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 52/84 Issuing the Executive Regulation of the Civil Service Law and its amendments,
and Royal Decree 26/86 Issuing the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Officers and its amendments,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
The text of article 16 of the mentioned Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Government Officers is hereby replaced with the following text:
Article 16
The period of service calculated in the pension or gratuity is the period spent in one of the permanent positions in the administrative apparatus of the state.
The periods of loan, educational scholarships, and leave of various kinds must be included in the calculation of this period. The officer shall pay his share and the share of the government of the contributions in cases of loan and leave without pay. The calculation of the periods of service does not include:
(a) The period of absence without salary.
(b) The period of suspension from work without salary.
The Council of Ministers may waive the obligation stipulated in the second paragraph of this article for certain categories of officers or for cases of those whose circumstances so require.

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
