Article I
The import of live birds and their products, derivatives, and waste from the region of Extremadura in the Kingdom of Spain is hereby banned, until the reason for the ban ceases and a decision is issued in this regard. Products, derivatives, and waste that are heat treated or processed in accordance with the Terrestrial Animals Health Code issued by the Office International des Epizooties (OIE)/the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) are excluded.Article II
The competent entities shall implement this decision, each in their fields of competence.Article III

Published in Official Gazette 1607 issued on 3 August 2025.As part of the Ministry of Labour’s efforts to regulate the labour market, enhance the efficiency of the workforce in the Sultanate of Oman, and ensure that professions are practiced in accordance with approved professional standards, the Ministry announces the mandatory requirement to obtain a Professional Practice License for all designated professions in the logistics sector, effective 1 September 2025.
This decision applies to all individuals—Omani and expatriate—working in the specified professions listed in the attached schedule, across various sectors.
Obtaining a Professional Practice License from the Sectoral Skills Unit for the Logistics Sector is a mandatory requirement for the issuance or renewal of work permits for both Omanis and expatriates. No work permit will be issued or renewed after 1 September 2025 without submitting the approved license.
License applications shall be submitted electronically via the official platform of the Sectoral Skills Unit for the Logistics Sector at the following link:
Accordingly, starting from 1 September 2025, no work permit will be issued or renewed without the license, and non-compliant establishments will bear the legal and administrative consequences in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Important Notice:
This announcement is binding on all establishments operating in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as all individuals (Omanis and expatriates) currently practicing or intending to practice the covered professions. Compliance with this directive is a fundamental condition for continuing to practice these professions within the Sultanate of Oman.
