Royal Decree 18/2010 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Ibri/Dreez/Maskan Road Dualisation Project

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Ibri/Dreez/Maskan road dualisation project specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the mentioned project, as well as all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 17/2010 Issuing the Law of Delegation and Substitution in Competences

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law of Interpretations and General Provisions 3/1973,

and the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 26/75,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the attached law shall apply in regard to the delegation and substitution in competences.

Article II

The text of article 14 of the Law of Interpretations and General Provisions 3/1973 and the text of article 15 of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 26/75 are hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the attached law, or is in conflict with its provisions.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law Organising the Technical Positions in the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Determining the Financial Treatment of Their Occupants promulgated by Royal Decree 90/2000,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 14 of the aforementioned Law Organising the Technical Positions in the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Determining the Financial Treatment of Their Occupants is hereby replaced with the following text:

The occupants of the positions stipulated in article 2 of this law are prohibited from engaging in advocacy or commerce, and they are also prohibited from performing any work that contradicts the mandate of these positions.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Saif bin Nasser bin Issa Al-Rahbi is hereby appointed Advisor to the Oman Establishment for Press, Publication, and Advertising with the special grade.

Article II

Royal Decree 11/2010 Amending Some Provisions of the Law of the Omani Passport

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, and the Law of the Omani Passport promulgated by Royal Decree 69/97, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 12 of the aforementioned Law of the Omani Passport is hereby replaced with the following text:

Article 12

It is not permitted to grant minor children or those subject to restriction an ordinary passport without the written consent of the guardian, custodian, or steward in accordance with the procedures determined by the regulation.

Article II
