We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income signed in the city of Muscat on 17 Dhu Al-Hijja 1329, corresponding to 16 December 2008,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Sheikh Humaid bin Ali bin Sultan Al-Maani, Our ambassador to the Republic of India, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Singapore.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96, the Law Concerning the Financial System of the Diwan of Royal Court issued by Royal Decree 128/91, the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Officers of the Diwan of Royal Court issued by Royal Decree 86/96, the Law Concerning the Officer System of the Diwan of Royal Court issued by Royal Decree 97/97, and Royal Decree 47/2008 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Diwan of Royal Court, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Office of the Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan for Foreign Communications is hereby annexed to the Diwan of Royal Court.

Article II

All applicable laws of the Diwan of Royal Court shall apply to the Office of the Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan for foreign communications and its employees.

Article III

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Advocacy Law issued by Royal Decree 108/96,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 66 of the mentioned Advocacy Law is hereby replaced with the following text:

Article 66

Omani advocates are hereby exempt from the provisions of article 6 to the period determined by the Council of Ministers upon the request of the Ministry of Justice.  The council shall also determine, upon the request of the Ministry of Justice, the period after which non-Omani advocates working in Omani law firms, which are registered before the primary courts and their equivalent and registered before the courts of appeal or the supreme court, may not appear or plead before the courts. This is without prejudice to the provisions of article 68.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
