We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

After perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 concerning the Promulgation of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and stemming from the development witnessed by the Sultanate in various fields,

and Our commitment to support the journey of comprehensive development,

and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article 1

His Highness Sayyid Fahad bin Mahmoud Al-Said is hereby appointed Deputy Prime Minister for the Affairs of the Council of Ministers.

Article 2

The name of “Secretariat of the Council of Ministers” is hereby amended to “Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers”, and the title of “Secretary of the Council” is hereby amended to “Secretary General”.

Article 3

The Deputy Prime Minister for the Affairs of the Council of Ministers shall supervise the work of the Council of Ministers and its secretariat general, and the Internal Regulation of the Council of Ministers is hereby amended in line with the provisions of this article.

Article 4

A ministry for higher education is hereby established and Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al-Manthri is appointed as its minister, and he is also appointed the chairman of the university council.

Article 5

A ministry for legal affairs is hereby established and Mohamed bin Ali bin Nasser Al-Alawi is appointed Minister of State for Legal Affairs.

Article 6

Sayyid Saud bin Ibrahim bin Saud Al-Busaidi is hereby appointed Minister of Education.

Article 7

A ministry for development is hereby established and Mohammed bin Moosa Al-Yousef is hereby appointed Minister of State for Development Affairs.

Article 8

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A fund named the “Ministry of Defence Pension Fund” is hereby established in accordance with this decree.

Article II

The fund has an independent legal personality and is not considered a government administrative unit.

Article III

A board of directors for the fund is hereby established under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Defence and the membership of the Ministry of Palace Office Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and the Central Bank of Oman.

Article IV

The board of directors shall issue the constitution of the fund and its internal regulations.

Article V

All relevant entities shall implement this decree, each within its mandate.

Article VI

All that is contrary to this decree is hereby repealed.

Article VII

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
