We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 54/74 Establishing the Diwan of Protocol of His Majesty the Sultan,

and Royal Decree 46/80 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Diwan of Protocol and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The name “Diwan of Royal Palaces and Protocol Affairs” is hereby adopted for the Diwan of Protocol established by the mentioned Royal Decree 54/74.

Article 2

The competent entities shall make the necessary drafting amendments to the organisational structure of the diwan in accordance with the text of article I.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Ambassador Mohammed Hassan Ali—Our ambassador to the French Republic—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Sultanate to the Portuguese Republic.

In the application of article 3 of the mentioned Police Law, the designations and ranks of the police force units and their personnel shall be determined by virtue of orders issued by Us to the Commander of the Police.

Article 2

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
