The Supreme Committee for Dealing with Covid-19 decided to resume some commercial activities, with effect from Today, Tuesday April 28, 2020, including:

– Vehicles repair workshops

– Fishing boats repair workshops

– Vehicles spare parts shops Fishing spare parts shops

– Selling and repairing of electronic and electrical appliances and computers shops, repairing of electrical appliances shops and satellites receivers shops

– Vehicles rental offices

– Equipment and machinery rental offices

– Specialized stores of stationery

– Printing Shops

– Sanad offices

– Quarries and Crushers

– The above-mentioned activities shall not allow customers to enter the shops; the service shall be limited to receipt and delivery

– The Committee also decided to reopen:

Oil change, brake repair and tire sale and repair of vehicles

A maximum of two customers shall be allowed to be at the Shop at the same time.

– The Committee also decided to allow Money Exchange Companies to resume their services The aforementioned economic activities shall comply with all health requirements specified by the concerned authorities.

Based on the Public Private Partnership Law promulgated by Royal Decree 52/2019,

Royal Decree 54/2019 Establishing the Public Authority for Privatisation and Partnership and Issuing Its System,

and the approval of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Privatisation and Partnership,

and in pursuance of public interest,

it is hereby decided

Article I

The provisions of the attached Executive Regulation of the Public Private Partnership Law shall apply.

Article II

This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 56/2020 Determining the Dates of Official Holidays

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and Royal Decree 76/96 Determining the Dates of Official Holidays,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The dates of official holidays for the units of the administrative apparatus of the state, and other legal persons and establishments of the private sector are hereby determined for the following celebrations and occasions as follows:

First:

(a) Hijri New Year 1 Muharram
(b) Birth of the Prophet 12 Rabi Al-Awwal
(c) Isra and Mi’raj 27 Rajab
(d) National Day 18 and 19 November

If one or both days of the weekend fall within the aforementioned holidays, it will be compensated by one day. The date of the National Day holiday may be modified if public interest so requires.

Second:

(a) Eid Al-Fitr: starting from 29 Ramadan until 3 Shawwal.

(b) Eid Al-Adha: starting from 9 Dhu Al-Hijja until 12 Dhu Al-Hijja.

Friday shall be compensated if it falls on the first day of either Eid.

Article II

The aforementioned Royal Decree 76/96 is hereby repealed as well as all that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Statement of the Supreme Committee

The Committee expresses its utmost congratulations to His- Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, may Allah protect him, on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, and to the Omani people, Arabs and Islamic nations.

– The Committee stresses the importance of avoiding all gatherings during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

– The Committee affirms that the closure of mosques, including for (Tarawih prayer, shall continue, except for the call of prayer Adhan).

– Ramadan gatherings, such as Iftar in mosques, tentes or public majlises, and social, sports, cultural and other group activities are strictly prohibited.

– Extending the lockdown of Muscat Governorate through the Control and Checkpoints until 10 AM Friday, May 8, 2020.
