Royal Decree 68/94 Amending the Muscat Municipality Law

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 8/92 Issuing the Muscat Municipality Law and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 8 of the mentioned Muscat Municipality Law is hereby amended as follows:

The municipal council consists of the chairman of the municipality and twenty-seven members, of whom eleven members represent government agencies selected by the heads of their units who hold at least the rank of director general, and sixteen members representing the wilayat of the Governorate of Muscat.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 70/94 Amending the Composition of the Board of Directors of the Port Services Corporation and Appointing Members Representing the Share of the Government in It

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

the Commercial Companies Law 4/74 and its amendments,

Royal Decree 46/76 Establishing the Port Services Corporation,

and Royal Decree 47/76 Appointing the Members of the Board of Directors of the Port Services Corporation,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Board of Directors of the Port Services Corporation is hereby composed of twelve members as follows:

(a) Five members representing the share of the government, including the chairman of the board of directors and his deputy, and their appointment must be issued by a royal decree.

(b) Seven members representing the rest of the shareholders, to be elected from among the shareholders, each of whom owns at least 200 (two hundred) shares, provided that the term of office of the member is two years with the possibility of re-election.

Article II

The following are hereby appointed members of the Board of Directors of the Port Services Corporation as representatives of the share of the government:

1. Minister of Transport Chairman of the board
2. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Deputy chairman
3. Director General of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Member
4. Director General of Customs in Royal Oman Police Member
5. Director General of Labour at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour Member

Article III

The articles of association of the Port Services Corporation must be amended in accordance with article I of this decree.

Article IV

The mentioned Royal Decree 47/76 is hereby repealed.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force as of the next fiscal year of the corporation.

Royal Decree 69/94 Adding a Member to the Municipal Council of Muscat Municipality

Royal Decree 8/92 Issuing the Law of Muscat Municipality and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 72/93 Appointing Members of the Municipal Council for Muscat Municipality,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A representative of the Ministry of Water Resources with the grade of director general is hereby added to the members of the Municipal Council of Muscat Municipality representing government agencies in the third session of the council.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 40/86 Issuing the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

Ambassador Ahmed bin Omar bin Taher Baomar is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Tunisia.

Article II

Ambassador Hilal bin Salim bin Hamoud Al-Siyabi, Our ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to Burkina Faso.

Article III

Ambassador Ali bin Salim bin Bader Al-Hinai is hereby appointed an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 63/94 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Hamriyah Road Dualisation Project (Phase I)

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 64/78 Issuing the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit and its amendements,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Hamriyah Road Dualisation Project (Phase I) specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the mentioned project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
