We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 8/92 Issuing the Law of Muscat Municipality,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of article 8 of the mentioned Law of Muscat Municipality is hereby amended as follows:

The municipal council consists of the chairman of the municipality and twenty-six members, of whom ten members represent government agencies selected by the heads of their units who hold at least the rank of director general, and sixteen members representing the wilayat of the Governorate of Muscat.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and Royal Decree 19/88 Issuing the Statute of the Institute of Health Sciences,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The statutes of educational institutes subordinate to the Ministry of Health must be issued by a decision by the Minister of Health.

Article II

The mentioned Royal Decree 19/88 is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 64/78 Issuing the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit and its amendemnts,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Nizwa Road Dualisation Project (Phase I) specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes Between States and Nationals of Other States, opened for signature at the headquarters of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Washington,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States of America is hereby authorised to sign the mentioned Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes Between States and Nationals of Other States.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

The signature by the permanent representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling, and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction is hereby approved.

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 4/93 Establishing the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The text of the first paragraph of article 4 of the Articles of Association of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates is hereby replaced with the following text:

Article 4

The management of the establishment must be undertaken by a board of directors formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the membership of:

1. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industry as Deputy Chairman.

2. The Director General of Commerce.

3. The Director General of Industry.

4. The chief executive officer of the establishment.

5. The two directors of industrial estates.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its publication.
