We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and the Omani Nationality Law 1/1972 and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The person named Ajit Gokaldas is hereby exempted from the provisions of article 7 of the mentioned Omani Nationality Law, which stipulates that a foreigner who has acquired Omani nationality shall not exercise public and political rights in the Sultanate except after the lapse of ten years from the mentioned date.

Article 2

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

and the draft Agreement on Cultural Cooperation Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the State of Qatar, prepared in cooperation between the two governments, the entry into force of which is subject, in accordance with the provisions of article 12 of it, to ratification by the two contracting countries in accordance with the legal rules of each of them,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The Minister of Education is hereby authorised to sign the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the State of Qatar.

Article 2

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
