Royal Decree 17/2013 Issuing the Law on Measurement and Calibration

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Omani Penal Law promulgated by Royal Decree 7/74,

Royal Decree 39/76 Establishing the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry,

Royal Decree 1/78 on the Competences of the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry,

and the National Law on the System of Measurement and Legal Calibration promulgated by Royal Decree 74/90,

and after presentation to Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the attached Law on Measurement and Calibration shall apply.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Royal Decree 18/2013 Amending Some Provisions of the System of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water Issued by Royal Decree 58/2009

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

Royal Decree 92/2007 Establishing a Public Authority for Electricity and Water and Appointing Its President,

Royal Decree 58/2009 Issuing the System of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water,

and Royal Decree 38/2011 Abolishing the Ministry of National Economy,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached amendments to the aforementioned System of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water are hereby implemented

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Postal Service Law promulgated by Royal Decree 27/80,

the System for the Collection of Taxes, Fees, and Other Amounts Due to Units of the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 32/94,

the Financial Law promulgated by Royal Decree 47/98,

the Law of the Administrative Court promulgated by Royal Decree 91/99,

the Banking Law promulgated by Royal Decree 114/2000,

the Telecommunications Law promulgated by Royal Decree 30/2002,

Royal Decree 48/2005 Establishing the Oman Post Company SAOC,

and Royal Decree 19/2008 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and after presentation to Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached Law Regulating Postal Services shall apply.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 64/2012 Approving the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law Governing the Foreign Ministry promulgated by Royal Decree 32/2008,

and the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat signed in Ramsar on 2 February 1971 and amended by the Paris Protocol on 3 December 1982 and the Regina Amendments on 28 May 1987,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the aforementioned convention is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instrument of accession to the aforementioned convention in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Republic of Germany for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital signed on 26 Ramadan 1433, corresponding to 15 August 2012,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 54/2012 Establishing a Secretariat General for the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary and Adopting Its Organisational Structure (Repealed)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Judicial Authority Law issued by Royal Decree 90/99,

Royal Decree 10/2012 Regarding the Governance of the Administration of Judicial Affairs,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A secretariat general for the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary stipulated in the mentioned Judicial Authority Law is hereby established named the "Secretariat General of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary". It shall assist the council and its chairman in the exercise of their legally prescribed competences.

Article II

The Secretariat General of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary must be managed by a full-time secretary general seconded from among the deputy chairmen of the Supreme Court by a decision by the Chairman of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary after the approval of the council for a period of three years, renewable for a similar period or periods, with the same entitlements and job allowances. He must be paid a management allowance determined by a decision by the chairman after the approval of the council.

Article III

The mandates of the Secretary General must be determined by a decision by the Chairman of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary after the approval of the council.

Article IV

The Organisational Structure of the Secretariat General of the Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary is hereby adopted in accordance with the attached annex.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 50/2012 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Public Prosecution

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

Royal Decree 92/99 Establishing the Public Prosecution and Issuing Its Law,

Royal Decree 24/2001 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Public Prosecution and Determining Its Mandates,

and Royal Decree 25/2011 on the Independence of the Public Prosecution,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Organisational Structure of the Public Prosecution is hereby adopted in the manner specified in the attached annex.

Article II

Article 1 of the mentioned Royal Decree 24/2001 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the provisions of this decree.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
