We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,
and the Omani Nationality Law promulgated by Royal Decree 38/2014,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article I
Omani nationality is hereby reinstated to Obaid bin Salim bin Said Al-Shehi.
Article II
This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Statement of the Supreme Committee
The Covid-19 Supreme Committee has taken the following decisions:
– Ending the decision of banning entry to and exit from the Sultanate through various land, air and sea outlets starting from 12 am on Tuesday, 29 December 2020.
– Obtaining a PCR test, compulsory, before coming to the Sultanate from all countries of the world without exception.
– Imposing quarantine again for those arriving on short visits to the Sultanate for less than seven days.
– The following procedures shall be applied to all arrivals at the Sultanate’s border outlets. The previous decisions that contradict these procedures shall be canceled:
– Registering in (Tarrasud+) application prior to arrival in the Sultanate.
– Showing a certificate of negative Covid-19 PCR test upon arrival provided that the tests has been conducted within a period of not more than 72 hours.
– It is mandatory to obtain a health insurance that covers costs of Covid-19 treatment. Omanis, GCC citizens and those who have free health cards are exempted.
– Conducting a PCR test upon arrival at the Sultanate’s airports.
– Wearing a tracking hand bracelet at all border outlets, along with commitment to a 7-day quarantine. The tracking bracelet is removed after completing the quarantine period, provided that no Covid-19 symptoms appear during that period, upon repetition of the PCR test on the eighth day.
– The quarantine period for public and private workers in the Sultanate will not be treated as a paid sick leave.
The Supreme Committee urges citizens and residents to avoid travel abroad during the coming period unless there is extreme necessity.

Statement of the Supreme Committee
The Supreme Committee decides:
Closing air, land and sea borders to passenger traffic effective 1 am Tuesday Dec 22, 2020 for a week long, with the exception of freight planes, ships and trucks.
The committee will continue to monitor the epidemiological situation of the new strain of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and take the appropriate decisions accordingly.
May Allah Almighty Protect All From Any Harm
the Educational Scholarships, Grants, and Aid Law promulgated by Royal Decree 83/2002,
and in pursuance of public interest,
it is hereby decided
Article I
The attached amendments are hereby made to some provisions of the aforementioned Regulation of the Recognition of Non-Omani Higher Education Institutions and the Equivalency of Educational Qualifications They Grant.
Article II
All that is contrary to the attached amendments, or in conflict with their provisions, is hereby repealed.
Article III
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
