Royal Decree 24/2007 Ratifying the Protocol on the Control of Marine Transboundary Movements and Disposal of Hazardous Wastes and Other Wastes

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, and the 1998 Protocol on the Control of Marine Transboundary Movements and Disposal of Hazardous Wastes and Other Wastes, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned protocol is hereby ratified.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instrument of ratification of the protocol in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance. Issued on: 19 Rabi Al-Awwal 1428 Corresponding to: 7 April 2007

Royal Decree 26/2007 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Project for Constructing the Wilayat Nakhal Old Souq

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The project for expanding the Wilayat Nakhal Old Souq specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, real estate and land necessary for the project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 20/2007 regarding the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, and the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the aforementioned convention is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instrument of accession to the aforementioned convention in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance. Issued on: 14 Safar 1428 Corresponding to: 4 March 2007

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 26/75,

and Royal Decree 102/2005 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A directorate general called the “Directorate General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development” is hereby established in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry”.
