We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 8/80 Issuing the Civil Service Law and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 44/80 Issuing the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

Salim bin Ismail bin Ali Al-Suwaid is hereby appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, transferred from the Foreign Ministry.

Article 2

Malallah bin Ali bin Habib is hereby appointed an advisor in the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture with his same grade and allocations.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Article 1

Saif bin Hamad Al-Battashi is hereby appointed Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Financial Affairs and Services.

Article 2

Sayyid Haitham bin Tarik Al-Said is hereby appointed Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 68/79 Establishing the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Council and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 104/85 Amending the Name of the Ministry of Environment and Its Mandates,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The name of the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Council is hereby amended to become the “Environmental and Water Resources Protection Council”.

Article 2

The council is hereby recomposed under Our chairmanship as follows:

– Minister of Environment and Water Resources Deputy chairman

– Minister of Transportation Assistant deputy

– Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Member

– Minister of Electricity and Water Member

– Minister of Interior Member

– Minister of Health Member

– Minister of Housing Member

– Minister of Commerce and Industry Member

– Minister of State and Wali of Dhofar Member

– Minister of Petroleum and Minerals Member

– Minister of Regional Municipalities Affairs Member

– Head of the Diwan of Royal Court Affairs Member

– Secretary General of the Council Member

Article 3

The council shall assume all the mandates previously vested in the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Council and the Water Resources Council until those mandates are redetermined by a special royal decree.

Article 4

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

and Royal Decree 47/84 Determining the Mandates of the Ministry of Environment,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The name of the Ministry of Environment is hereby amended to become the “Ministry of Environment and Water Resources”.

Article 2

A royal decree must be issued redetermining the mandates of the ministry and restructuring its organisational structure.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
