We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 8/80 Issuing the Civil Service Law and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The services of Major General Bakhit bin Said Al-Shanfari are hereby transferred to the Ministry of Environment, and he is hereby appointed its undersecretary, effective from 1 January 1985.

Article 2

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette.

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments, the decision of the General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation at its twenty-fifth extraordinary session in Montreal on 10 May 1984 approving the amendment of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago 1944) by adding a new article to it under number 3bis, and the protocol relating to the mentioned amendment, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The mentioned Protocol Relating to an Amendment to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago 1944) by adding a new article to it under number 3bis is hereby ratified.

Article 2

The relevant entities shall undertake the necessary measures to implement the mentioned amendment, each within the limits of its mandate.

Article 3

The mentioned petroleum agreement signed on 25 September 1984 between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the group of companies is hereby approved:

Royal Decree 42/74 Issuing the Oil and Minerals Law,

and Royal Decree 61/84 Approving the Petroleum Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate and a Group of Companies:

– North South Resources Limited

– International Petroleum Limited

– Peninsula Petroleum Corporation

signed on 18 March 1984,

the assignment contract executed on 23 July 1984, by which the mentioned group of companies assigned to Placid Oil Company Oman an undivided share of 60% of their rights and obligations in the mentioned petroleum agreement between them and the Government of the Sultanate,

and the approval of the Minister of Oil and Minerals to the assignment, as set out in his letter dated 27 August 1984,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The assignment by the group of companies North South Resources Limited, International Petroleum Limited, and Peninsula Petroleum Limited of an undivided share of 60% of their interest, rights, and obligations in the petroleum agreement entered into between them and the Government of the Sultanate on 18 March 1984 to Placid Oil Oman Limited, which accepts this in accordance with its acknowledgement dated 30 July 1984, is hereby approved. The provisions of article 21 of the mentioned petroleum agreement apply to this assignment.

Article 2

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.
