We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State 26/75 and Royal Decree 13/76 amending it,
and the Royal Decree on the Territorial Waters, Continental Shelf, and the Exclusive Fisheries Zone in the Sultanate issued on 17 July 1972,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
Article 6 of chapter three of the Royal Decree on Territorial Waters, Continental Shelf, and the Exclusive Fisheries Zone in the Sultanate issued on 17 July 1972 is hereby amended as follows:
1. The exclusive fisheries zone in the Sultanate extends for a distance of two hundred nautical miles towards the sea, measured starting from the baselines from which the width of the territorial sea is measured.
2. In the event that the coast of another state lies opposite or adjacent to the coast of the Sultanate of Oman, the outer limits of the exclusive fisheries zone in the Sultanate must be determined by the median line, every point of which is equidistant from the nearest points on the baselines from which the width of the territorial waters of the Sultanate and the territorial waters of the other states are measured.
Article 2
Those concerned shall implement this decree, and it comes into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State 26/75 and its amendments,
and based on the matters presented to Us by the Council of Ministers after its review by the Diwan of Legislation,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
A council is hereby established to supervise vocational training in the Ministry of Education.
Article 2
The council is hereby formed as follows:
Minister of Education Chairman
Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Deputy chairman
Minister of Commerce and Industry Member
Undersecretary of the Directorate General of Finance Member
A representative of the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour Secretary general of the council
The council may seek the assistance of experts in its field of competence in carrying out its work.
Article 3
The council has the following mandates:
(a) Setting the objectives of the education policy and linking them to the objectives and policy of vocational training, and to the needs of the national economy within the framework of development plans.
(b) Developing an implementation programme for these objectives and policies over the years of each development plan, and submitting this programme to the Development Council.
(c) Coordinating between the objectives and needs of education and the objectives and needs of vocational training.
(d) Following up on the implementation of the education and vocational training programme.
Article 4
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.

after perusal of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State of 1975 and its amendments,
and the Agreement Signed Between the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the United States of America in 1971 Concerning the Regulation of the Work of the American Peace Corps,
and based on the matters presented to Us by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs after its review by the Diwan of Legislation,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is hereby authorised to sign on Our behalf the amended final version of the mentioned Agreement Regulating the Work of the American Peace Corps.
Article 2
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

have decreed as follows
Article 1
Minister Plenipotentiary Ahmed Mohammed Al-Jamali is hereby promoted to the grade of ambassador.
Minister Plenipotentiary Ahmed Mohammed Al-Lamki is hereby promoted to the grade of ambassador.
Minister Plenipotentiary Hassan Mohammed Fadha is hereby promoted to the grade of ambassador.
Counsellor Bader bin Saud Al-Busaidi is hereby promoted to the grade of Minister Plenipotentiary.
Article 2
Those concerned shall implement this decree from the date of its issuance, and it must be published in the Official Gazette.

Three directorates general are hereby established in the Ministry of Education as follows:
1. The Directorate General of Technical Affairs.
2. The Directorate General of Educational Districts Affairs.
3. The Directorate General of Administrative and Financial Affairs.
Article 2
This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.

the compulsory documents approved by the Seventeenth Congress of the Universal Postal Union Held in Lausanne in 1974,
and article 26 of the Constitution of the Universal Postal Union,
and based on the matters presented by the Minister of Transportation after its review by the Diwan of Legislation,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The documents of the mentioned congress are hereby ratified, which are:
1. Second Additional Protocol to the Constitution of the Universal Postal Union.
2. General Regulations of the Universal Postal Union.
3. Universal Postal Convention.
4. Final Protocol to the Universal Postal Convention.
5. Executive Regulations for the Universal Postal Convention.
