Royal Decree 28/2005 on Appointments in the Public Prosecution

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Judicial Authority Law issued by Royal Decree 90/99 and its amendments,

the Public Prosecution Law issued by Royal Decree 92/99,

and the Law of State Security Court issued by Royal Decree 64/2003,

and in pursuance of public interest.

have decreed as follows

Article I

Those named in the attached list are hereby appointed to the position next to their name.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 27/2005 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Wilayat of Khaboura Souq Development Project (Phase II)

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit issued by Royal Decree 64/78 and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 69/2003 Declaring Public Benefit Status to the Project to Develop the Souq of the Wilayat of Khabura,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Wilayat of Khaboura Souq Development Project (Phase II) specified in the attached note and masterplan is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article II

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, land and establishments necessary for the project, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 5/2005 Ratifying the Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital

and the Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital signed in Muscat on 21 Sha’ban 1425, corresponding to 6 October 2004,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 112/2004 Establishing a Ministry for Sports Affairs and Determining Its Mandates

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Royal Decree 101/96,

Royal Decree 113/91 Establishing the Public Authority for Youth Sports and Cultural Activities and its amendments,

Royal Decree 67/94 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Public Authority for Youth Sports and Cultural Activities,

and Royal Decree 41/2001 Issuing the System of Private Entities Working in the Field of Youth Sports and Cultural Activities and its amendments,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

A ministry for sports affairs is hereby established to which the mandates, allocations, and assets relating to sports activities are transferred from the Public Authority for Youth Sports and Cultural Activities, and all officers working in the same activities in the mentioned authority are hereby transferred to it with their same employment status.

Article II

The mandates, allocations, and assets relating to cultural activities are hereby transferred from the Public Authority for Youth Sports and Cultural Activities to the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, and all officers working in the same activities in the mentioned authority are hereby transferred to it with their same financial grades.

Article III

Royal Decree 113/91 Establishing the Public Authority for Youth Sports and Cultural Activities and Royal Decree 67/94 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Public Authority for Youth Sports and Cultural Activities are hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to this decree.

Article IV

The mandates of the Ministry of Sports Affairs are hereby determined in accordance with the attached annex.

Article V

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
