Royal Decree 26/2021 Ratifying the Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of Hungary on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

and the Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of Hungary on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education signed in Muscat on 8 February 2021,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Statement of the Supreme Committee

The Supreme Committee on COVID-19 grants exemption to  home delivery service and tire shops located in petrol stations from the decision to close business activities in the Sultanate, applicable from 8 pm-5am, which ends Saturday morning 20 March 2021.

Thus, the activities excluded from the decision will be petrol stations, health facilities, private pharmacies, home delivery service, and tire shops located in petrol stations.

Statement of the Supreme Committee

Within its continuous sessions held to follow up on recent developments of COVID-19 in the Sultanate, and to protect the community from this contagious pandemic, the Supreme Committee has decided the following:

To extend suspension of arrivals from the following ten countries; the Republic of Sudan, the Lebanese Republic, the Republic of South Africa, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Guinea, the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and those travelling from other countries but have passed through one of the aforementioned ten countries in the last 14 days preceding their request to enter the Sultanate. This excludes Omani citizens, diplomats, healthcare workers and their families, who will be subject to the approved procedures upon arriving in the Sultanate.

To extend implementation of online learning to students of public schools by means of distance learning for another two weeks period, ending on Thursday, March 25, 2021. However, grade 12 students will be treated with Blended Learning, provided to evaluate this in accordance with the developments of epidemiological situation in the Sultanate during this period.

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

the Oil and Gas Law promulgated by Royal Decree 8/2011,

Royal Decree 49/2017 Approving the Petroleum Agreement Signed between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Tethys Oil Montasar Limited for Block 49,

and the collection of documents upon which Tethys Oil Montasar Limited assigned 50% of its rights and obligations in the petroleum agreement signed on 14 November 2017 for Block 49 to EOG Resources Muscat Block 49 SPC, which accepts this assignment,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows 

Article I 

The assignment by Tethys Oil Montasar Limited of 50% of its rights and obligations in the petroleum agreement signed on 14 November 2017 for Block 49 to EOG Resources Muscat Block 49 SPC is hereby approved. The final shares of the parties to the agreement are as follows:

50% for Tethys Oil Montasar Limited.

50% for EOG Resources Muscat Block 49 SPC.

Article II 

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
